Job Title: Campaign Manager
Salary: $3,000 to $5,000 USD for a first trial contract month, then negotiated salary for ongoing full time position, based on performance in the trial month.
Location: Ideally Brisbane, or at least Australia so we can meet you face to face, however for the right person you can treat this as a work from home job from anywhere in the world, if you are good at the job!

This a full time position, initially on a trial month contract at 40 hour week, with room to grow into a permanent part of the very attractive CrankyAds start-up team.

You will be in charge of…
- Working personally with our CrankyPlus clients to help them set up advertising on their website
- Optimizing the placement and pricing of advertising on client websites
- Proactively seeking sponsors for clients (your most important job)
- Negotiating with sponsors to secure campaigns on our client websites
- Managing campaigns and liaising with publishers and sponsors to meet their needs
- Identifying and inviting new websites into the CrankyPlus program

- Solid communication skills, in particular written expression as you will spend much of your day demonstrating your brilliance on email.
- Clear and confident telephone manner to communicate with our publishers and advertisers.
- The ability to speak in confidence with genuine knowledge about online advertising campaigns when convincing sponsors to buy advertising on our client websites.
- Research skills so you can quickly learn about new industries as new websites become our clients.
- Emotional intelligence, self awareness and the ability to connect the dots so you understand what motivates our clients.
- You must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic as you will work unmonitored and be given free reign to experiment and develop your own best practices.
- The ability to create systems and optimize operating procedures once you have come up with effective techniques, so you can repeat them and others can follow your steps as standard operating practices.
- Experience with or the ability to quickly learn the WordPress.org blogging platform, the CrankyAds plugin and ad manager, Paypal, Gmail, Skype, Wunderlist and Evernote.
We would especially love to hear from you if you have worked for an online advertising agency in any capacity, dealing with ad campaigns in CPM, CPC, CPA or any billing cycles.

This is a real job and obviously you will be paid an adequate salary to begin with, with lots of room to grow as our company grows. I would hope that you are excited about the position and working in an online start-up more so than just for the money.
We won’t be hiring people who demonstrate that money is their greatest motivation. That is not our greatest motivation for the company, it’s just the resource that lets us build an amazing service for web publishers and advertisers.

Wow what an ad. I am intrigued with all the comments people have posted. Clearly there concerns are so typical that it must fog their view of the potential of the opportunity. Money is not the factor that will drive this job to success . The crux is can you execute  the two requests above, the rest will follow. The advert sounds a bit like a John Howard’s flexible employee scenario. No security offered, 40 hour week, no location details (is shifting allowance offered) and undisclosed payment. This would not pass basic ‘credible job advertisement’ standards with someone like Seek.com.

To my defense, I have never hired a salaried person, only contractors, so I am learning what people want.
Of course for a top performer and someone who is fun to work with (a great part of our team who can share our vision), I’d be willing to pay them almost anything, within reason. I know the value of good people. It’s just very hard to find them.

Hi Terry,
CrankyAds is a WordPress plugin so there is no installer. To get it to work with your WordPress site just log into your WordPress admin panel, go to plugins and upload the zip file. After that you should see a “CrankyAds” menu item on the side bar which will walk you through the rest of the setup process.
