New Minimum Price For Ads

We’ve just implemented a small change, but one important enough that you should know about it.

CrankyAds now requires you charge a minimum of $10 for an ad (or 10 of whatever currency you charge in).

We did this for several reasons -

  • If you are charging less than $10 for an ad you should spend more time building up traffic to justify charging more.
  • Bloggers tend to under-charge for what their traffic is worth, so this forces you to have a base minimum.
  • For us, processing an ad transaction at under $10 is not cost effective if we are managing the transaction for you

If you are not sure how much to charge for advertising, you can read our primer guide here -

Hi, I was very interested to see this plugin, looks really great. However, then I saw the 25% fee! Besides that huge fee, now users must pay $10 charge… My limit got hit there…

Anyways, glad some are happy with this plugin. It will be too expensive for me coz, I have 3 different charges on my sponsored ad offer, the highest offer is approx. $225, that’s $56.25 fee for you! Toooo much man…

    Best,
    Daniel

      Hello Daniel,

I think you are misunderstanding things. The $10 minimum is the minimum price you can charge for an advertisement using CrankyAds. It is not a fee we charge.

The 25% includes paypal fees, which we pay for you, since all payments go into our paypal account.

You receive 75% of the amount the ad sells for if it is a direct ad sold. If you use crankyads for affiliate ads or internal campaigns, it is completely free.
